Development - infrastructure

Who
The infrastructure is the work area of the people who create and maintain the technical basis of knowledge networks and are responsible for links with other networks.
Other people active in this area are those who study the technical aspects of components that have been added to the infrastructure at a later stage, for instance people who have converted databases to reference structures, and ontology engineers who determine the technical design of a reference structure.
What
The RNA-project has chosen to adopt the RDF format to define reference structures and other structures, such as object descriptions and metadata linked to content. The complex network of RDF entities and their interrelations are referred to as the infrastructure.
How
The people who work on the infrastructure look under the hood of the system. For this engineering work no elegant tools are available that can prevent dirty hands or awkward mistakes. For this reason the environment is exclusively available to a small group of authorised persons.
